Description:

Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan culture, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A beautiful, forged-bronze sword with a lengthy blade bearing a raised midrib, sharpened edges, and a rounded tip. The blade shoulder is surrounded by a forked grip, with the handle below bearing intricately incised linear motifs, and the spool-form pommel with discoid terminals. Beautiful brown and green patina covers the entire weapon, though it would have held an impressive luster in antiquity. Size: 31.5" L x 1.6" W (80 cm x 4.1 cm)
