Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A sizable spearhead cast from copper via the lost wax technique. The weapon has a conical shoulder as well as a slender tang with a thick tip that curves to one side. Sharpened edges surround the petaloid blade and protruding midribs and gradually taper to a slightly rounded tip that was quite pointy at one time. Mottled green, citrine, and brown patina has formed across the entire weapon. Size: 10.55" L x 1.5" W (26.8 cm x 3.8 cm)
