Description:

Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 2 cast-bronze daggers, each with a slender blade bearing sharp edges and a smooth midrib. Each handle bears raised peripheries intended for setting smooth inlays, and the longer dagger bears folded flanges to hold the inlay in place. Both weapons are covered in layers of naturally-occurring patina in mottled hues of brown and green. Size of largest: 12.3" L x 0.6" W (31.2 cm x 1.5 cm)
