Description:

Native American, Arctic, Inuit or Aleut people, ca. 1500 to 1800 CE. A pair of awl-like tools, one just a fragment, made from marine mammal ivory - probably walrus tusk. Both are elongated in form, with holes drilled through them. Fascinatingly, the smaller is carved to resemble the head of a seal, while the larger has whale-like faces at either end. Size of largest: 2.65" W (6.7 cm)
