Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A lovely pottery bowl hand-painted with a horizontal band of diagonally-striped spade motifs that rise from the base and petaloid designs that protrude down from the rim, all in hues of beige, black, red, and light blue. The vessel itself presents a graceful silhouette with a petite, discoid foot, a conical base, and straight walls that rise to an annular rim. Size: 4.6" Diameter x 3" H (11.7 cm x 7.6 cm)
