From the ancient near east, Holy Land, ca. 5th to 4th century BCE. This is a buff hollow terracotta statue of a standing woman, probably a goddess, shown nude from the front and with some kind of drapery behind her -- possibly a cloak? -- that pools at her feet. She stands in a sensual position, with her breasts, stomach, hips, and thighs emphasized. Size: 8-1/2" H x 2-3/4" W x 2" L (21.6 cm x 7 cm x 5 cm).
Provenance: Ex-prominent collection of Richard F., NYC, NY.
