Description:

Central/Southern Europe, Danube River Basin, Hallstatt, ca. 8th to 7th century BCE. A thick bronze ring of annular form with 6 cast bells suspended via integral loops. Each bulb-shaped ball features vertical slits that allowed the rattle balls to create jingling sounds when jostled. Thick layers of green and brown patina have formed across the ancient idiophone. Size (ring): 1.4" Diameter (3.6 cm); (each bell): 0.625" W x 1.3" H (1.6 cm x 3.3 cm)
