Ancient Central / Eastern Europe, Celtic culture, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. A forged-iron spearhead of petaloid form with pointed tip, slender shoulder, and tapered cylindrical socketing shaft. Spearheads like this were mounted to the ends of long, wooden poles to keep enemies at a relatively comfortable distance. Size: 7.7" L x 1.3" W (19.6 cm x 3.3 cm)
