China, Shang Dynasty, ca. 1600 to 1046 B.C. Extraordinary set of 2 almost matched nephrite jade pendants or some other form of attachment. Each meticulously carved of deep green jade in circular form with small notches upon top and inner circle. Each "pendant" has a tiny suspension hole that was biconically drilled with obvious signs that these holes were created using ancient tools and methods. Comes in a custom two-part box. Size: 5.75" L (14.6 cm)

This pair of jades has been tested using XRF technology which confirmed each segment was nephrite jade.

Provenance: private Brighton, Massachusetts, USA collection acquired in Hong Kong in 1986
