Description:

Classical World, Balkan Europe, ca. 4th to 1st century BCE. A fine cast-bronze dagger blade with a flared guard, a flanged handle area, and a slender blade with a shallow midrib. Inside the widened guard are two bronze pins for securing an attached handle grip, perhaps made of bone, ivory, or wood. The entire weapon is coated in lustrous areas of dark-brown and green patina. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 6.875" H (17.5 cm); 7.375" H (18.7 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-estate of John Piscopo, San Diego, California, USA. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
