Ancient Central Asia, Bactria, ca. late 3rd to 2nd millennium BCE. An abstract idol torso carved from hardstone of a dark green hue, perhaps chlorite. The top of the broad shoulders features a shallow recess intended to hold a separately-carved head, and the bottom of the verso displays the base of either a human coccyx or a more mythological tail. Size: 1.55" L x 3.08" W x 2.88" H (3.9 cm x 7.8 cm x 7.3 cm)
