Description:

Near East, likely Turkey, Anatolia, Bronze Age, ca. 4000 to 3000 BCE. A very unusual idol or ritual blade, carved from a thin piece of lustrous black stone with light grey and white inclusions. The curved shoulders could be viewed as arms to the sides of a blade shaped body. A pair of small perforations through the top were presumably for cords. Size: 2.75" L x 1.5" W (7 cm x 3.8 cm); 3.25" H (8.3 cm) on included custom stand.
