Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Amlash culture, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A hand-built blackware pottery jug exhibiting lustrous surfaces due to its stone-burnished surfaces. The spout rises and flared outwards from atop the shoulder, and a petite handle or suspension loop protrudes out from behind. Size: 3.9" W x 4.6" H (9.9 cm x 11.7 cm)
Provenance: Private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s

- Condition: Repair and restoration to small areas of rim, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Minor abrasions and nicks to rim and body, with light fading to black color in scattered areas, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to surface texture and color in most areas. Previous information label beneath base.
