Ancient Near East, Achaemenid Persian Empire, ca. 550 to 330 BCE. An elegant cast bronze beaker set on a slightly rounded base with a corseted midsection and tall gently flared walls that lead to a wide opening at its top. Its rim is finely pronounced and accented by a raised appliqued ring which encircles its upper register. The surface has a brilliant patina in a hue of emerald-green accented by dark red oxidation marks - a wonderfully aged and conserved example! Size: 5.25" W x 7.25" H (13.3 cm x 18.4 cm)
