Description:

Ancient Near East / Central Asia, Achaemenid Persian (ca. 550 to 300 BCE) or Sasanian (Sassanian/Sassanid) Empire (ca. 2nd to 7th century CE). A stunning necklace made from approximately twenty-five ancient disc-shaped agate beads on modern cords with modern gold-plated findings and spacer beads. The agate beads increase in size towards the center of the necklace. The natural beauty of the stone has been enhanced by the creators of these ancient beads, who have polished the surfaces and shaped them so that the paler inclusions wrap around their centers, drawing the eye. A gorgeous statement that is very wearable! Length of strand: 21" L (53.3 cm); size of largest bead: 0.85" W (2.2 cm)
