Description:

Ancient Near East, Anatolia, Syro-Hittite, ca. 2800 to 1500 BCE. An intriguing cast-copper idol of an abstract form standing atop an integral circular platform. The idol presents with a slender body, petite arms held out with curled hands, and thin legs with a central delineation cleft. The bulbous head features a miniscule mouth, a flat verso, and a pinched tab-shaped nose flanked by a pair of coffee-bean-shaped eyes. Covered in thick brown patina, this is a wonderful example of ancient figurative art! Size: 0.9" W x 2.25" H (2.3 cm x 5.7 cm); 2.5" H (6.4 cm) on included custom stand.
