Description:

Ancient Near East, Western Anatolia, Early Bronze Age II - III, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. An abstract yet intriguing hand-carved marble idol with an ovoid body, a small indentation on either side of the body, and a few shallow drilled eyelets. This example is of the rare Cine-Tepecik style, one that has a squat lower body and a slender, triangular upper body which tapers to a point. This idol lacks the lengthy upper body, likely due to age and wear. A very rare example from ancient Western Anatolia! Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 1.625" W x 2.3" H (4.1 cm x 5.8 cm); 2.9" H (7.4 cm) on included custom stand.
