Native American, southwestern United States, Arizona and New Mexico region, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1175 to 1300 CE. A hand-built pottery bowl of a hemispherical form displaying attractive red-on-white motifs. The exterior is adorned with several pairs of white negative-resist bars bearing petite serrations on both sides, and coursing around the interior of the rim is a register of inversed cresting waves. Size: 12.8" W x 6.25" H (32.5 cm x 15.9 cm)

  • Condition: Repaired from multiple large pieces, with restoration to roughly 4" section along rim, and small chips, resurfacing, and overpainting along new material and break lines. Light fading to original pigment but motifs and color are still visible.
