Native American, North America, Southwest, Anasazi/Mogollon Tularosa, ca. 1030 to 1200 CE. A wonderful black-on-white Tularosa olla decorated throughout with a continuous angular spiral containing repeated step motifs in each of the seven panels formed by the bends around the bulbous body AND interlocking right-side up and upside down nested triangular motifs adorning the neck. In addition to its impressive decorative program, the vessel form is quite nice with a rounded, bulbous body rising to a tubular neck, all upon a generously dimpled base. Size: 4.25" in diameter x 4" H (10.8 cm x 10.2 cm)

Provenance: private New Jersey, USA collection, acquired from The Prehistoric Collector, Tucson, Arizona, USA in 2007; accompanied by document stating that this piece was found on private land near St. Johns, Arizona
