Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Moche III, ca. 400 to 600 CE. Colorful and amusing pottery portrait jar in the form of a fairly rotund face. Large puffy cheeks, strong chin, almond eyes and partially pierced ears. Vessel decorated in shades of tan, brown, red and white and probably used to hold chicha. Size: 7.75" H (19.7 cm)
