Ancient Near East / Ancient Mediterranean, Amlash culture, ca. 1400 to 1000 BCE. An elegant example of Amlash pottery: a bowl of graceful form with thick walls that rise up to an inward-curving rim, all sitting upon a narrow, planar base. A lustrous, apricot-hued glaze envelops the entirety of the piece, while a petite, vertical suspension loop protrudes from the exterior, emerging just below the broad rim. Size: 11.9" Diameter x 4.1" H (30.2 cm x 10.4 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available to the buyer upon request.

Provenance: private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s
