Description:

North America, United States, Civil War era, ca. 1861 CE. A wonderful Remington .44 caliber iron revolver with a percussion firing mechanism. The octagonal barrel extends in front of the six-chamber barrel, and the barrel is secured via an articulating lock arm. The curved trigger is protected by a brass trigger guard, and the handle is lined with two form-fitting wooden panels. A maker's mark stamped on top of the barrel reads, "Patented Dec 17, 1861 Manufactured by Remington's, Ilion N.Y." Size: 13.5" L (34.3 cm).
