Description:

Diane Kennedy "Tatlaat" (Native American, Alaska, Tlingit, ca. 20th to 21st century CE.) A decorative cedar wood carving in the form of a halibut hook / fishing jig, with a walrus ivory (possibly bone) hook, and abalone nacre shell inlays. The underside of the hook arm is signed "Tatlaat" and "Alaska." The upper raven effigy and lower arm are lashed together with sinew cords, and a sinew suspension loop is strung through the top. This hook was made for viewing from all sides, not just a wall mount, and could be suspended from a ceiling as an interesting display piece! Size: 12.25" L x 1" W x 5.5" H (31.1 cm x 2.5 cm x 14 cm)
