North America, United States, Alaska, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A pair of scrimshaw walrus ivory pieces. The mermaid is signed by David Adams, an Alaska based scrimshaw artist, and the moose scene is signed but the signature is not discernable. Both pieces are pre-1972 harvested walrus ivory, and were once old Inuit tools, with old holes drilled through the sides and nice patina throughout. Size of mermaid: 3.75" L x 1.5" W x 2.2" H (9.5 cm x 3.8 cm x 5.6 cm); moose: 6.25" L x 1.25" W (15.9 cm x 3.2 cm)

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
