A soapstone carving of a bear standing up on four thick legs with a bulky body suggesting both musculature and a healthy diet of seals. The simple visage consists of incised eyes and mouth and the underside of the front foot is etched with the artist's name "CURTIS A. / 98." Size: 7.25" L x 2.8" W x 3.2" H (18.4 cm x 7.1 cm x 8.1 cm)
