Split open to reveal its mesmerizing botryoidal crystals, this specimen exudes a dreamy allure with semi-translucent formations of chalcedony with a textured surface - the crystals a like a dusting of sugary powder! Over millions of years silica minerals replaced the coral, creating the agate crystalization, which makes this example truly special and remaniscent of a magical cave! While most specimens are solid or unremarkable when sliced, this particular piece defies expectations. Agatized coral is highly prized not only by fossil collectors but by gem and mineral collectors as well.
