Western Africa, Northern Nigeria, Nok culture, ca. 500 BCE to 100 CE. A hand-built terracotta figural torso depicting a standing mother - with bared breasts and a wide-eyed facial expression - as she holds a minimalist figure in her left arm. Size: 3.125" L x 3.75" W x 6.25" H (7.9 cm x 9.5 cm x 15.9 cm); 8.25" H (21 cm) on included custom stand.

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report will accompany the item upon purchase.
