Central Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Luba or Kusu peoples, ca. mid-20th century CE. A three-headed wooden fetish of columnar form exhibiting a flared base and a thick neck with 2 laryngeal prominences. Two of the faces feature slender eyes and planar noses while the third head bears impressed metal pupils. The discoid top knot is surrounded by a thorny crown, perhaps of religious significance. Size: 5.25" L x 5.25" W x 12.9" H (13.3 cm x 13.3 cm x 32.8 cm)
