Africa, Cameroon, Bamum or Tikar peoples, ca. mid-20th century CE. A pair of pottery pygmy guardians, also known as house guardians, one with 2 heads and a scallop shell tied to the waist. They both have portly, nude bodies and separately molded bangles and necklaces. Their faces and bodies are incised with tattoos / ritual scarification. Size: 5.75" L x 3.5" W x 8" H (14.6 cm x 8.9 cm x 20.3 cm)
