Western Africa, Ivory Coast, Baule peoples, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A wooden slingshot carved in the form of a standing monkey with a tail, the surface painted a lustrous black. The spread legs would have secured the sling, and the torso served as the handle. The surface is smooth throughout from age and use! Size: 2.2" W x 6.5" H (5.6 cm x 16.5 cm); 7.25" H (18.4 cm) on included custom stand.
