Description:

New World, Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Acoma Pueblo, Celecita Vicenti, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. The Acoma potters are known for their endearing owl figurines, and this example - skillfully hand built with applied wings, tailfeathers, and ears as well as a full-of-personality open beak - certainly lives up to a high standard. What's more, it is painstakingly decorated with red and black details over a traditional white slip and signed by artist Celecita Vicenti on the bottom. Size: 2.75" W x 3" H (7 cm x 7.6 cm)
