Native American, Southwestern United States, Acoma Pueblo, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A handmade whiteware pottery vase with a cut out bear paw, bear in low relief to the side, and impressed motifs highlighted in teal and red pigments. The underside is signed "Zel Sun Rise" for married couple Elliott (b. 1947) and Zelda Garcia (b. 1967), who work together using white clay often incorporating symbols of their respective clans, the sun and parrot. Size: 7" Diameter x 7.5" H (17.8 cm x 19 cm)
