Mary Torivio (Native American, Acoma Pueblo, b. 1945). Polychrome owl, ca. late 20th century CE. Signed on underside of base with culture. An adorable pottery sculpture of a horned owl featuring a large head with wide, annular eyes, a curved beak, and an open mouth that leads to the hollow interior. Perched upon petite feet, the cute creature displays a round belly, tucked wings, and a flared tail, all enveloped delineated feathers. Mary Torivio is the daughter of Acoma potter Marie C. Torivio. Size: 4" L x 3.9" W x 5.5" H (10.2 cm x 9.9 cm x 14 cm)
