**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Near East, Achaemenid Persian Empire, ca. 550 to 330 BCE. A small but wearable bracelet crafted from three thick bronze wires that have been flattened together on one end, wrapped around each other continuously, and then flattened together on the other end, making one contiguous band. Each planed terminal has a centralized open slit where the bands of bronze have either separated or were not fully fused, and each has a diagonal checkerboard pattern incised on its outer surface. Speckles of bright citrine hues are visible underneath the dark and richly patinated surface tones of umber and emerald. Size: 0.6" L x 2.875" W x 2.375" H (1.5 cm x 7.3 cm x 6 cm).
