Description:

Ancient Near East, Achaemenid Persian Empire, ca. 500 to 330 BCE. A fascinating incised silver wire bracelet with zoomorphic terminals, each in the form of a rabbit head. The animals' long ears are pressed back, depicted in relief against the curve of the wire; their eyes are wide open, their mouths slightly parted. Incised lines create the illusion of fur on the faces and behind the heads. Size: 3.6" W (9.1 cm); 77 grams

#136976

  • Condition: Repaired at center, with a stable crack on one side. Slight bending to form. Very nice preservation of motifs and dark patina on surface. We do not recommend wearing this piece as the silver is brittle; however, it is a lovely piece sure to shine in any collection.
