Iran, Achaemenid Empire, ca. 5th century BCE. Three well-modeled high-karat gold ornaments, each in the form of a kneeling Sphinx. Human head, lion body and wings outstretched over the back, each with two small suspension loops on reverse. Each tests at over 16kt and total weight of the 3 is 2.6 grams. Size: 1" L (2.5 cm)
