A fine, high-quality silver openwork Jellinge style pendant, in the form of intertwining beasts or dragons, arranged in a discoidal. A tubular suspension loop with raised linear motifs is set above their downturned necks, and this pendant is sturdy enough to string on a cord and wear if one desires. The Jellinge style is a Scandinavian animal art style from the Viking Age, characterized by intricate and symmetrical designs, often depicting ribbon-like animals in profile. Emerging in the early 10th century, it is named after the Danish site of Jelling, where notable artifacts displaying this style were discovered.
