Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE; Near East, Byzantine Empire, ca. 4th to 6th century CE. A collection of copper, bronze, brass, and leaded bronze coins from Roman and Byzantine period. A few that have discernable details include a Byzantine Justinian bronze follis, a bronze Antoninus Pius coin, and a rubbed bronze coin with "SC" on one face, standing for "Senatus Consulto," by permission of the Roman senate. These coins could be used for crafting unique pieces of jewelry, or simply enjoying the fascinating history of the currency pieces. Earthen and mineral deposits are scattered across the coins, adding layers of patina. Size of bronze Follis: 1" Diameter (2.5 cm)

  • Condition: Coins range from F to G. Edge splitting and clipping to peripheries on some. Faces are rubbed and indiscernible on some, and others have clearer faces. Nice patina on many with rich mineral deposits.
