Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 8 weapons from the ancient Luristan culture comprised of 4 copper and 4 bronze artifacts. Cast weapons like these were versatile in how they could be mounted atop a pole for use as a spear or on the end of a slender arrow shaft for firing onto a field of enemy combatants. Size of largest: 9.375" L x 1.3" W (23.8 cm x 3.3 cm)

Provenance: private Everett, Massachusetts, USA collection, purchased between September 2002 and October 2014
