Description:

East Asia, China, Ming Dynasty, ca. 1368 to 1644 CE. A graceful collection of 7 pottery bowls, all adorned with blue-painted decoration of abstract and floral designs atop a lustrous white glaze. Each dish sits upon a ring-form foot with walls that curve upwards and outwards to broad rims. A ring of bare terracotta embellishes the central basin of all 7, while the foot of each has also been left unglazed. Size of largest: 11.1" Diameter x 2.8" H (28.2 cm x 7.1 cm)

One bowl in this lot has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available to the buyer upon request.
