Description:

Ancient Near East, modern day Iran, early Islamic, ca. 7th to 9th century CE. A beautiful bowl of a sizable stature, mold-formed from translucent glass of a vivid yellow-green hue. The vessel is defined by a concave base with a rough pontil scar, gently flared walls, a rounded lip, and a deep basin with a notable central kick. The exterior walls are decorated with pattern-molded circular and linear motifs, and thick iridescence elegantly complements the vessel's verdant spring hues. A fabulous example of ancient Islamic glass artistry! Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 5.5" W x 2.5" H (14 cm x 6.4 cm).
