Description:

**Originally Listed At $300**

Ancient Near East, early Islamic, ca. 6th to 10th century CE. A beautiful bottle of a slender form that is free-blown from pale yellow-green glass. The cylindrical body rests atop a stable base and has a gently flared neck as well as a sloped shoulder that still retains traces of the marvered (or feathered) motifs. Petite bottles like this example were used for containing ointments or scented perfumes by upper-class individuals who could afford finer luxuries like glass. The entire vessel is enveloped in stunning layers of fiery, rainbow-hued iridescence. Size: 1" W x 3.9" H (2.5 cm x 9.9 cm)
