Description:

East Asia, Korea, Silla Kingdom, ca. 5th to 6th century CE. A gorgeous wheel-thrown stoneware jar with a globular body and a wide mouth. The vessel sits on a slightly concave base and the impressed cross hatching pattern extends from the base to the shoulder. The neck and rim are smooth in contrast and do not present these embellishing textures. The lip of one side droops, perhaps acting as a spout for pouring and the interior is deep. A remarkably well-preserved vessel of early Korean history! Size: 9.8" W x 10.75" H (24.9 cm x 27.3 cm)
