Byzantium, ca. 5th to 6th century CE. A lovely silver ring featuring a central design inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem with a hemispheric dome atop decorative openwork walls of curvilinear motifs, each corner detailed with columns comprised of granules, and a nice substantive shank of hammered silver. Ring size: 7. Weight: 5 grams

Accompanying old tag states in part, "See "Mountain of the Lord" by Mazar p. 245" presumably referring to Benjamin Mazar's book, "The Mountain of the Lord: Excavating in Jerusalem" (1975).
