Native American / First Nations, Pacific Northwest Coast, United States & Canada, ca. 20th to 21st century CE. A beautiful collection of 4 Pacific Northwest Coast style boxes made from wood, copper, and glass. The glass box has a frosted raven motif painted by Canadian Haida artist Clarence A Wells (b. 1950) - the lower right of each pane is signed. The black wood box inlaid with a copper face is also by Wells and signed. The large cedarwood box is hand painted with formline motifs, the underside is stamped "Upper Skagit Tribe" and the year with the artist's name: "1988 P. Dunthorne." Peter Dunthorne is of European descent and married to a member of the Skagit tribe, located in northern Washington state. The smallest is a copper repousse panel box allegedly from a series by Richard Dicks. Size of Dunthorne box: 7.5" L x 7.5" W x 10" H (19 cm x 19 cm x 25.4 cm); copper box: 6.5" L x 4.5" W x 5" H (16.5 cm x 11.4 cm x 12.7 cm)

- Condition: Scuffs to Dunthorne box, but otherwise intact and nice condition. Patina to the copper inlay and scuffs to wood on the Clarence Wells box. Glass box is intact and very good. Copper box has indentations and dark patina, glue adhesive residue on the verso. Unsigned.
