Description:

Central Asia, Pakistan, or Afghanistan, Kuchi (Kochi) culture, ca. mid to late 20th century CE; North America, United States, ca. late 20th century CE. This collection features an array of earrings and a Delta Zeta sorority pin. The matched pair of earrings are Native American-style rose bud beads made from copper with a 1% silver wash. A single crescent-shaped earring, crafted from 94% silver and marked "STERLING" on the verso, displays a stamped motif on the obverse and dangling spheres. The three Afghan-style jhumka earrings are designed with hooks and filigree domes with dangling ornaments and colorful glass inlays: red and green glass is 64% silver, red glass is 88% silver, and blue and red glass is 46% silver. While slightly different, these jhumka earrings are similar enough in style to be worn as mismatched pairs. The collection is completed by a Delta Zeta pin, made from 48% copper and 33% (8K) gold, representing fraternity pride. Size of jhumka earring: 2.75" L x 0.75" W (7 cm x 1.9 cm); pin: 0.25" Diameter (0.6 cm)
