Ancient Near East/Central Asia, Sassanian (Sasanian / Sasanid) Empire, ca. 2nd to 7th century CE. A set of 4 Sassanian stamp seals. First is a white marble seal with an abstract plant; second is a carnelian seal with a minimalist ibex; third is an opaque glass seal with a damaged stamp face; and the largest is a chalcedony seal depicting Gayomard, the primordial giant born of Ohrmazd in the Zoroastrian religious tradition. Size of largest (chalcedony): 0.85" L x 0.79" W x 0.63" H (2.2 cm x 2 cm x 1.6 cm)
