Ancient Near East, Anatolia, ca. 4th to 3rd millennium BCE. A fine gathering of four triangular stamp seals with abstract, minimalist zoomorphs incised on each stamp face. Carved from dark gray, nearly black stone, each stamp seal features a quadruped creature with a slender body, sinuous legs, and large heads with some exhibiting horns or antlers. Behind each seal is a nubbin handle with a laterally drilled suspension hole. Custom putty impressions included. Size of largest: 1.25" L x 1.2" W (3.2 cm x 3 cm)

Provenance: private Zaveloff collection, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA, acquired in 2002 from Venus Gallery, Israel
