Native American, New Mexico, Acoma, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A charming collection of 3 pottery quails and a lizard by various Acoma artists. The quail looking over its back is signed "M. Ascencio," likely for Margaret Ascencio, the lizard is signed "R. Boren" for Ruth Boren (b. 1929), and the checkered wing quail is marked in pencil "Chino," which synonymous with the renowned family of potters from the Acoma community. Size of largest quail: 3.5" L x 2.2" W x 3.5" H (8.9 cm x 5.6 cm x 8.9 cm)
