Central Asia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Northern India, Gandhara, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. A collection of 5 pottery molds to impress decorative features into clay vessels, votive tablets, beads, or statues before firing. The region of Gandhara played a significant role in the Silk Road trade network; these terracotta molds sped up production to meet demands. Included are modern putty impressions of each mold. Size of largest: 5" L x 4.5" W (12.7 cm x 11.4 cm)
